After studying at Exeter College in the U.K. and at the Royal School of Arts in the Hague, I am now an artist based in Leiden. With my mother being Finnish and my father Dutch, I had the opportunity to get familiar with both countries. Inspired by the great quiet wilderness of Finland and at the same time by the hectic liveliness of the Netherlands I try to bring them together in my work. With vibrant colours, very often containing themes of nature, I try to seduce the vieuwer. Seduce them as I was seduced by the beauty that surrounding all. To stand still for a moment and be overtaken by imagination, so beauty may transcend hectic everyday life. That we may find a moment to think, to enjoy and be enchanted by that what surrounds us.

Na een studie aan het Exeter College in de U.K. en aan de Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in Den Haag, heb ik me gevestigd in Leiden. Geboren uit een Finse moeder en een Nederlandse vader heb ik de gelegenheid gehad beide landen te leren kennen. Geinspireerd door de prachtige wildernis in Finland en de hectische levendigheid van Nederland probeer ik in mijn werk deze twee uitersten met elkaar te verbinden. Met de soms felle kleuren en thema's van de natuur wil ik de aanschouwer verleiden. Hen verleiden zoals ik verleid wordt door de omringende schoonheid. Zodat zij stil staan voor een moment en de fantasie hen verder voert. Dat hiermee de Schoonheid het allerdaagse overstijgt en we een moment vinden om de tijd even stil te laten staan om ons te laten betoveren door dat wat ons omringt.
